BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana – The 9^th-ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats posted a hard-fought, 81-78 victory over Panola College (Texas) here Tuesday night in the Bossier Parish Community College Women's Classic.
Alexis Tolefree (Conway, Arkansas) led JCJC with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Nique Cherry (Heidelberg) had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Kira Bonner (Quitman) had 14 points. Maya Jones (Northwest Rankin) had 9 points and 9 rebounds and Chrystal Ezechukwu (Stone Mountain, Georgia) had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Camryn London (Birmingham, Alabama) had 6 points, K.K. Tassin (Terry) had 4 points and ZaKyia Weathersby (Collins) had 1 point.
JCJC led 21-18 after the first quarter and 40-38 at halftime, but Panola would hold a 57-55 lead after three quarters.
The Lady Bobcats, 7-2, conclude play in the tournament with a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday vs. Jacksonville College (Texas).
Panola, 11-3, hosts No. 6 Trinity Valley (Texas) on Jan. 10.
