ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College men's tennis team posted a 6-3 decision over Copiah-Lincoln here Wednesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC improved its record to 2-1.
The Bobcat men won four of the six singles matches.
Chase Pennington (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) beat Hayes Thompson in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Jacob Bozeman (Brookhaven) outlasted Tripp Case in No. 4 singles, 0-6, 7-6, 10-8.
Luke Armstrong (Hartfield Academy) rallied past Cory Alderman in No. 5 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
Brandon McCary (Wayne County) whipped Cole Moak in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
In No. 1 singles, Taquel Lewis (St. Lucia) lost to Sebastian Osorio, 6-3, 6-4.
Diego Leal (Colombia) fell to Juan Pablo Pirilla, 6-2, 6-1, in No. 2 singles.
In No. 1 doubles, Lewis and Leal beat Osorio and Pirilla in No. 1 doubles, 8-6. Bozeman and Armstrong defeated Thompson and Moak in No. 3 doubles, 8-3. Pennington and McCary lost to Case and Alderman in No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
Jones will meet Christian Brothers University at 2 p.m. Friday at the Reservoir YMCA in Brandon. JCJC's next home match will not be until March 30 vs. Holmes.
Co-Lin, 3-3, hosts Hinds on March 24.
