RAYMOND – Jones County Junior College whipped Hinds Community College 7-2 here Thursday afternoon.
Jones won five of the six singles' points.
Taqel Lewis (St. Lucia) beat Daniel Yepez in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2. In No. 2 singles,
Diego Leal (Colombia) rallied to defeat Christian Crapps, 3-6, 6-0, 10-8.
Chase Pennington (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) whipped Matthew Burkes in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-2. In No. 4 singles,
Jacob Bozeman (Brookhaven) downed Jamal Holmes-Griffin, 6-2, 6-2.
Luke Armstrong (Hartfield Academy) defeated John Dennis in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-1. In No. 6 singles, Hinds' Aaron Galloway outlasted
Brandon McCary (Wayne County), 6-4, 2-6, 11-9.
Lewis and Leal defeated Yepez and Dennis in No. 1 doubles, 8-3. Bozeman and Armstrong beat Ryan Wheeless and Holmes-Griffin in No. 3 doubles, 8-3. In No. 2 doubles, Crapps and Burkes edged Pennington and McCary, 9-8 (7-4).
The Bobcats, 5-2, travel to Itawamba on Saturday and gol to Copiah-Lincoln on Wednesday.
Hinds, 1-6, visits Copiah-Lincoln on Friday.
