POPLARVILLE  ­– Alexis Tolefree (Conway, Arkansas) put on quite a show here Tuesday night at the Marvin R. White Coliseum.
Tolefree scored 36 points, including 29 in the second half, to lead the Lady Bobcats past Pearl River, 75-64.
JCJC is now 11-1 overall and 2-1 in division play.
Tolefree, the University of Central Arkansas transfer, put up 19 points in the third quarter as JCJC pulled away for the win.
Pearl River jumped out to a 9-3 lead before JCJC took its first lead at 12-10 on a 3-pointer by Kira Bonner (Quitman) with 3:27 left in the first quarter. PRCC led 16-14 before Tatyana Lofton hit an 18-footer with four seconds showing to tie the game at 16-16 after the first quarter.
PRCC scored the first five points of the second quarter before the Lady Bobcats scored 11 straight points, capped by a Lofton jumper with 3:17 left in the first half, to make it 27-21. Myyah West's (Prentiss) putback in the final seconds gave JCJC a 34-29 halftime advantage.
Jones was up 43-41 midway through the third quarter when Tolefree hit a 3-pointer.
JCJC led 50-43 when Tolefree scored and drew a foul. PRCC was whistled for a technical foul and Tolefree hit all three free throws to make it 55-43.
The Lady Bobcats led 59-49 after three quarters.
JCJC scored the first 11 points of the first quarter and took its longest lead of the game at 70-49 with 5:25 left when Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Georgia) made two free throws.
The closest PRCC would get the rest of the way was 73-64 with 1:04 left when Rehema Franklin scored.
After Tolefree, Lofton added 11 points for the Lady Bobcats.
Franklin had 16, Tyasia Willis added 15 and Tariah Mouton added 10 for Pearl River.
The Lady Wildcats are now 8-2 overall, 1-2 in the division.
The Lady Bobcats will host Southwest Mississippi at A.B. Howard Gymnasium at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will air on www.jcjc.tv.
Pearl River travels to Hinds on Thursday.
