SENATOBIA – The 23rd-ranked Jones County Junior College men's tennis team beat Northwest 7-2 here Saturday afternoon at the Ranger Outdoor Complex.
JCJC swept the doubles' points.
Taqel Lewis and
Diego Leal beat Noah Dunlap and Zaen Harbin in No. 1 doubles, 8-1.
Chase Pennington and
Taylor Tamberg defeated Dalton Young and Zak Harbin in No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
Luke Armstrong and
Josh Hester downed Thomas Hall and Luke Wilson in No. 3 doubles, 8-3.
Lewis blanked Quentin Hutchinson in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Leal defeated Hall in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Armstrong rallied past Wilson in No. 5 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 11-9, and Hester beat Zaen Harbin in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Young beat Pennington in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 7-5, and Zak Harbin outlasted Tamberg in No. 4 singles, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8.
The Rangers fall to 1-2 on the year.
The Bobcats host Meridian at 2 p.m. on March 22 and travel to Holmes on March 29.
Northwest visits Northeast on March 22.
