WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College defeated Jones County 6-3 in men's tennis action here Saturday afternoon.
JCJC won in No. 1 doubles when
Taqel Lewis and
Diego Leal teamed up to beat Mateusz Kimelski and Cory Alderman, 8-2.
Leal whipped Skylar Moody in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and JCJC's
Taylor Tamberg outlasted Hayes Thompson in No. 4 singles, 7-5, 1-6, 11-9.
Co-Lin took the other matches.
Thompson and Will Pennington defeated
Chase Pennington and
Luke Armstrong 8-3 in No. 2 doubles. Braxton Hinton and Drake Nelson defeated Tamberg and
Josh Hester in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Kimelski beat Lewis in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-4. Hinton won No. 3 singles over
Chase Pennington, 7-5, 6-1. Nelson downed Armstrong in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Alderman defeated Hester in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
JCJC is now 2-2 on the year, while Co-Lin is 2-0.
The Bobcats will travel to Meridian for a 2 p.m. match on Tuesday. Co-Lin visits East Central on Tuesday.
