ELLISVILLE – The 11
th-rated Jones County Junior College Bobcats posted its ninth shutout of the year here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.
Goalkeeper
Brittney Snyder (Biloxi) had four saves and JCJC scored the only goal they would need in the first half as they posted a 1-0 victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast.
It was a hard-fought contest, but JCJC managed to post the important MACJC South Division win.
The Lady Bobcats notched the only goal of the game when
Kelly Stubbington (London, England) scored off an assist by Carmen Childs (Oak Grove) at 26:20.
Jones had a few more opportunities than MGCCC, but could not score again.
But Snyder made the one goal margin stand up throughout the game.
JCJC is now 10-1 overall and 7-0 in division play.
The Lady Bulldogs are 7-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the division.
The Lady Bobcats host Meridian at 5 p.m. on Friday, while MGCCC visits Copiah-Lincoln.
