PERKINSTON – The 10
th-rated Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats got some sweet revenge here Saturday afternoon in the MACJC Soccer Tournament at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The Lady Bobcats whipped Pearl River 6-1 in the tournament semifinals. PRCC had eliminated JCJC the previous two years in the championship game.
The Lady Bobcats, 14-1, will now meet Holmes at 3 p.m. on Sunday for the tournament championship. Holmes, also 14-1, beat host Mississippi Gulf Coast 2-1 in the other women's semifinal game.

The JCJC/Holmes winner travels to Melbourne, Florida, on Nov. 4 or 5 to play in the NJCAA District H playoff game. The winner of that game advances to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament Nov. 14-19 at Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne.
The Lady Bobcats took the offensive early in downing PRCC.
Ashleigh Lewis (London, England) scored at 1:14 off a
Kelly Stubbington (London, England) assist to make it 1-0.
Jones took a 2-0 lead at 7:55 when
Shannon Durkin (Barnsley, England) scored off another assist by Stubbington.
JCJC made it 3-0 at 28:45 when Stubbington knocked it in off a free kick. Durkin tapped the ball just before the kick and got the assist.
The Lady Bobcats made it 4-0 when Lewis scored off a beautiful cross by Durkin at 52:25.
Lewis got the "hat trick" at 54:15 with
Abbey Graham (West Jones) getting the assist.
JCJC's final goal came at 69:11 when
Mary Kate Smith (South Jones) scored with Stubbington getting the assist.
Pearl River got on the scoreboard at 87:30 when Abbi Henderson scored on a penalty kick.
Brittney Snyder (Biloxi) was in goal for the first 60 minutes for JCJC, while
Mia Holmes (Brandon) played the final 30 minutes.
Pearl River ends the year at 9-7.
