TYLER, Texas – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats rallied for a 2-1 victory over perennial soccer power Cisco College (Texas) here Saturday evening.
The Wranglers took a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game on a goal by Phoebie Eshen.
JCJC tied the game at 1-1 when
Kelly Stubbington scored on a penalty kick at 24:13.
The "London Connection" then clicked on what proved to be the game-winning goal. Stubbington was on the receiving end of an assist by fellow London, England, freshman
Leticia Kyomukama at 32:01 to give the Lady Bobcats the lead.
Holly Pike was in goal for the entire game for the Lady Bobcats and had six saves.
The Lady Bobcats were credited with taking 12 shots, including nine shots on goal.
JCJC, 7-0, will now face No. 3 Tyler Junior College, 7-1, at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Cisco College is now 7-3-1.
