ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats used a four-goal second half to beat Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 5-1 here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.
JCJC is now 4-0 overall, 3-0 in the MACJC South Division. MGCCC falls to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The Lady Bobcats took a 1-0 lead at 14:53 when
Dallas McKinnon scored off an assist by
Abby Taylor.
JCJC made it 2-0 when
Kelly Stubbington scored at 52:47. They quickly made it 3-0 when
Abbey Graham passed the ball to
Mattie Mills who put the ball in the net at 54:02.
Kayla Satcher's unassisted goal at 63:36 gave Jones a 4-0 lead.
MGCCC's goal came at 70:10 when Moriah Minnis scored on a header off a pass by Madisen Geise.
JCJC's final goal came at 84:00 when
Rylee Sullivan scored via an assist by
Lindy Tabor.
Holly Pike was in goal in the first half for JCJC, while
Mackenzie Shows played the second half.
JCJC was credited with 20 shots, including 16 shots on goal. MGCCC had one shot on goal.
JCJC visits Copiah-Lincoln for a 4 p.m. match on Tuesday. MGCCC hosts Meridian on Tuesday.
