PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast defeated Jones County Junior College 6-3 in men's tennis here Thursday evening.
The Bobcats are now 7-2 on the year.
JCJC picked up wins in two doubles' matches.
In No. 2 doubles,
Josiah Lim and
Austin Baskin beat Skyler Flowers and Brian Allen, 8-4. In No. 3 doubles,
Robert Kiewit and
Josh Hester whipped Bobby Vo and Chris Diep, 8-1. MGCCC's Brandon Lane and Sam Blackburn defeated
Graham Lightsey and
Eric Swisher in No. 1 doubles, 8-2.
Baskin whipped Diep in No.4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Flowers downed Lightsey in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Lim lost to Lane in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Blackburn beat Swisher in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Vo edged Kiewit in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6. In No. 6 singles, MGCCC's De'Angelo Vaxton outlasted Hester, 5-7, 6-1, 12-10.
