ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College men's tennis team defeated Holmes Community College 8-1 here Friday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC is now 8-2 on the year.
Graham Lightsey and
Eric Swisher won No. 1 doubles over Owen Taylor and Nick Robertson, 8-4.
Josiah Lim and
Austin Baskin downed Dylan Throgmorton and Corey Warren in No. 2 doubles, 8-6.
Robert Kiewit and
Josiah Lim shut out Justin Sawyer and Hunter Moore in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Lim whipped Robertson in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Swisher defeated Throgmorton in No. 3 singles, 6-0, (retired). Baskin beat Warren in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Kiewit whipped Sawyer in No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Hester blanked Moore in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Taylor edged Lightsey in No. 1 singles, 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.
The Bobcats host Meridian at 2 p.m. on Monday and will travel to Holmes on Wednesday.
