MONROEVILLE, Alabama – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats posted an 81-73 overtime victory over Alabama Southern here Tuesday night at the Cooper Center.
ASCC led 29-20 at halftime, but JCJC rallied to lead 46-45 after three quarters. The game was tied 68-68 at the end of regulation.
Wendion Bibbins and
Aliyah Bell each registered impressive "double-doubles." Bibbins had 14 points and 20 rebounds, while Bell had 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Ashailee Brailey added 13points and
Myyah West had 10.
Hanah Lott led the team with seven assists.
JCJC was 25-of-68 from the floor (6-of-19 from 3-point range) for 37 percent. The Lady Bobcats were 25-of-44 from the free throw line.
The Lady Bobcats outrebounded Alabama Southern by a whopping 67-31 margin.
Shamina Hunter led ASCC with 23 points. Payton Kiser added 21 points. Oleightra Nance had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Bobcats, 3-2, will host Wallace State Community College (Alabama) at 2 p.m. on Friday at A.B. Howard Gymnasium. The game will air on
