ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats rolled to a 7-1 victory over Southwest Mississippi here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.
JCJC improves to 10-1 overall and continues to lead the MACJC South Division with a 7-0 mark. Southwest falls to 2-10-2 and 1-5-1.
Blythe Griffin got the first goal for JCJC at 4:35 off an assist by
Dallas McKinnon.
Kelly Stubbington then scored off a
Kelsey Hannaford assist at 10:07 to make it 2-0.
Traci Monroe's goal at 15:10 off an assist by
Ali Sullivan made it 3-0.
Ashtyn Rowell's unassisted goal at 23:50 would give Jones a 4-0 lead.
Southwest made it 4-1 on Taylor Laurent's free kick at 41:10 made it 4-1 at intermission.
McKinnon's goal at 58:35 off an assist by Monroe made it 5-1. Monroe's goal via an assist by Hannaford at 61:15 gave JCJC a 6-1 lead.
The final goal was by
Abbey Graham off a corner kick by
Rylee Sullivan at 84:00.
Holly Pike played the first half and allowed one goal and
Mackenzie Shows was in goal for the second half.
JCJC was credited with 26 shots, 20 on goal. Southwest took one shot on goal.
The Lady Bobcats travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest hosts Meridian on Tuesday.
