HANCEVILLE, Alabama – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats fell in its 2014-15 season opener here Tuesday night.
Host Wallace State Community College (Alabama) defeated JCJC, 83-71.
Alyson Johnson led the Lady Bobcats with 15 points, while Taylor Baudion and
Crystal Clay added 13 each.
Aliyah Bell had 10.
Johnson also paced the team in rebounds with 8, while
Jayda Simmons had 7 and
Ameonia House had 6. Johnson also had 4 steals and Baudion had 7 assists.
Sydney Houston had 20 points for the Lady Lions, 1-0, while Hannah Vest had 12 and Morgan Smith had 10.
The Lady Bobcats were 27-of-80 from the field, including 3-of-16 from 3-point range, for 33.8 percent. JCJC was 14-of-22 from the free throw line. Wallace State was 29-of-67 from the field, including 5-of-21 from 3-point range, for 43.3 percent. The Lady Lions were 20-of-34 from the foul line.
JCJC outrebounded Wallace State, 42-40.
JCJC, 0-1, will play its home opener at 5:30 p.m. on Monday against Alabama Southern Community College. The men's game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
