ELLISVILLE –
Taylor Baudoin came within one steal of a 'triple-double' here Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Baudoin had 17 points, 16 rebounds and 9 steals to spark the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats to an impressive, 90-64 victory over East Mississippi Community College.
It was JCJC's fourth straight victory, as they improved to 4-1.
The Lady Bobcats travel to Monroeville, Alabama, on Monday to face Alabama Southern Community College. The game tips at 2 p.m.
Baudoin, a 6-foot freshman from New Hope, had 12 offensive rebounds in the contest.
Starla Daggans topped the Lady Bobcats with 24 points, while
Alyson Johnson added 22 and
Crystal Clay had 12.
JCJC led 26-20 midway through the first half and then outscored EMCC 28-11 to take a commanding 54-31 halftime lead. The Lady Bobcats' longest lead of the game was 89-56 after a
Kadie Parker 3-pointer with 3:26 left.
EMCC, 2-4, was led by Ki-Ki Patterson with 17 points and Ashley Johnson with 11.
JCJC was 34-of-65 from the floor, including 8-of-15 from 3-point range, for 52 percent. They were 14-of-30 from the free throw line.
EMCC was 20-of-55 from the field, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range, for 36 percent. They were 20-of-26 from the foul line.
EMCC will not play again until they host Alabama Southern on Dec. 2.
