NEW ORLEANS – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats blistered the nets with a 64 percent field goal percentage and crushed Delgado Community College (Louisiana), 88-43, here Saturday afternoon at the Williamson Center.
JCJC made 36-of-56 shots from the floor as they cruised to the win. Jones was 12-of-18 from the free throw line.
Starla Daggans led JCJC, 3-1, with 19 points.
Crystal Clay added 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting.
Kadie Parker added 11 points and
Taylor Baudoin had 10. Clay and
Jayda Simmons each had 7 rebounds, while
Ameonia House had 6 assists.
It was the third straight victory for the Lady Bobcats, who led 42-28 at halftime and outscored Delgado 46-15 in the second half.
Smothers had 13 points for Delgado, 1-6. The Lady Dolphins were 15-of-51 from the floor for 29 percent.
JCJC returns home on Thursday to A.B. Howard Gymnasium to host East Mississippi at 5:30 p.m. The game will air on www.jcjc.tv.
Delgado visits Copiah-Lincoln on Nov. 22.
