Adam Butler is a certified athletic trainer for Hattiesburg Clinic Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and enters his seventh year working with Jones College student-athletes.
Butler is also an instructor at Jones and currently teaches introduction to kinesiology and prevention and care of athletic injuries.
Butler's focus is to bring health and wellness to all patients and athletes he meets, choosing this field because he wants to make a difference in the athletes, wants to help injured athletes become better and see them excel in their sport.
The Hattiesburg native graduated from Jones in 2013, finished his undergrad at Southern Miss in sports medicine in 2016 and earned his master's in 2018 from William Carey University.
As as an undergrad at USM, Butler was a student athletic trainer where he rotated with multiple sports each semester before finishing up his clinicals.
Prior to Jones, Butler provided athletic training and sports medicine care to student-athletes at Columbia Academy for two years. His services included treatment for emergency injuries and general sports injuries, as well as physical rehabilitation.
Butler is a member of the Mississippi Athletic Trainers’ Association and National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Butler is married to the former Heather Boutwell, and the couple have a four-year-old daughter, Anna Reese. The couple will celebrate their six-year wedding anniversary in October 2025.
