ELLISVILLE – Game one was never in question Tuesday at No. 18 Hinds, but sixth-ranked Jones needed a two-out, two-run single from
Farrah James in the top of the seventh in the nightcap to help the Bobcats to a two-game sweep.
Jones won the opener, 10-0 in five, and the finale 3-1 thanks to James' clutch hit.
The Bobcats improved to 43-8, 22-4 in the MACCC and have won 46 straight meetings over the Eagles dating back to 2010.
Hinds fell to 33-16, 16-12 in the conference.

Madison Sawyer was 4-for-4 at the plate and tossed a two-hit shutout in the circle for the game one victory.
Jones got RBI-singles from Sawyer in the first and
Marlee Dampeer in the second to take a 2-0 lead after two.
Leading 4-0 after four, the Bobcats erupted for six runs in the fifth inning behind a
Laney Little RBI-single,
Mabry Eason three-run double,
Mary Kimble Price RBI-single and
Annaston Tate single.
Sawyer (18-1) then set the Eagles down in order in the bottom of the fifth for the run-rule, ending the game with back to back strikeouts.
Jones out-hit Hinds 16-2 behind Sawyer's four hits and two each from Little, Eason, Price and Dampeer.

James' two-out, two-run single to left-center broke open a 1-1 game in the top of the seventh and Jones would hang on for the sweep.
The team's traded runs in the first on Sawyer's RBI-single and Emma Hudson's RBI-groundout for Hinds.
Morgan Landry (8-2) then hung six straight zeros in her first complete game performance in six weeks behind five hits and one run.
Price and Sawyer each walked to lead off the top of the seventh and James was able to deliver RBIs eight and nine on the year.
Jones hosts Itawamba on Friday, April 24 at 2 p.m. in the regular season finale.
