ELLISVILLE – Seven Bobcats combined for a season-high eight goals in a blanking of Northeast Alabama Thursday afternoon.
It was the first-ever meeting between the teams.
Jones won its fifth straight to go to 5-2. The Mustangs remained winless at 0-6-3.
Braden Buchanan scored the first of two goals in the 11th minute to break a stalemate.
Lucas Ekfeldt followed with a penalty kick goal,
Landen Linares scored and
Ethan Duarte-Sanchez to make it 4-0 at the half.
Jones added goals by
Amin Eltahir,
Kinson Smith, Buchanan and
Dylan Dykes in the 52nd, 72nd, 78th and 82nd minutes to make the final 8-0.
Jones outshot Northeast 22-2.
Brax Rials stopped both shots he faced in net.
Jones hosts Hinds Tuesday, Sept. 16 in the MACCC-opener for both sides.
