WICHITA, Kan. – Caroline Perkins' 75th minute goal tied the match for Northwest at 2-2 and her header in the first overtime won it for the Lady Rangers to send them into the national title game for a second straight year.
Jones' season ends at 14-6-2, but not before making its fourth national semifinal in five all-time NJCAA Tournament appearances.
Northwest, the reigning national champions, improved to 20-1-1 and will have a chance to repeat Saturday against Heartland.
Emma Jensen broke a stalemate in the 60th minute with her 29th goal of the year for Northwest.
Jameyah Hubbard tied the match for Jones six minutes later, using a
Magdalena Polrolniczak assist and scoring.
MACCC Player of the Year
Sherline King intercepted a Northwest pass and dribbled some 60 yards before her left-footed kick gave Jones a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute. It was King's 29th goal of the year.
But just 1:16 later, Perkins was able to tie the match to eventually send it into extra time.
Four minutes into the extra period, a quick flick of the ball inside the 18 found the head of Olivia Miller and then Perkins' head from six feet away that somehow snuck past Bobcat keeper
Jennifer Huerzeler for the game-winner.
Northwest prevailed in all three meetings against Jones in 2025.
