ELLISVILLE – The 13th-ranked Jones College Bobcats beat the No. 18 Coastal Alabama-South Coyotes 6-3 here Wednesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 9-0 overall. The Bobcats will travel to Senatobia on Thursday to play conference matches vs. Northeast at 12:30 p.m. and Northwest at 3 p.m. Jones hosts No. 11 Wallace State (Alabama) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Bobcats swept the doubles' matches.
Matias Ruiz (Argentina) and
Charlie Brady (Australia) beat Guido Loayza and Ryan Roberson in No. 1 doubles, 8-3.
Duvan Santiago Torres (Colombia) and
Alex Holder (Madison Central) whipped Blake Robertson and Santiago Castillo in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Hudson Hans (Moss Point) and
Ethin McKinnon (Vancleave) edged Evan Stewart and Jack Morris in No. 3 doubles, 8-6.
Ruiz beat Robertson in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Brady downed Loayza in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Torres whipped Roberson in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Holder fell 4-6, 3-6 in No. 4 singles to Morris. Hans dropped a 4-6, 1-6 decision to Castillo in No. 5 singles and McKinnon lost 1-6, 2-6 to Alvaro Bardales in No. 6 singles. In an extra match
