ELLISVILLE – The 13th-ranked Jones College Bobcats defeated Millsaps 8-1 here Saturday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones moved to 5-0 while Millsaps fell to 0-2.
The Bobcats won all of the doubles points.
Matias Ruiz (Argentina) and
Charlie Brady (Australia) beat Carson Chassaignac and Anderson Dulaney in No. 1 doubles, 8-3.
Duvan Santiago Torres (Colombia) and
Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) edged Jakub Bobinski and Sam Tuli in No. 2 doubles, 9-7.
Hudson Hans (Moss Point) and
Ethin McKinnon (Vancleave) defeated Sam Willard and Brady St. Martin in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Ruiz beat Chassaignac in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4 and Brady defeated Dulaney in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Torres whipped Tuli in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Do downed Bobinski in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Hans beat St. Martin in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-2 and McKinnon lost a close one to Willard in No. 6 singles, 7-5, 5-7, 0-1 (8).
Millsaps College is an NCAA Division III school based out of Jackson, Mississippi.
