GULF SHORES, Ala. – Jones split Friday's games at the Coastal Alabama Coyote Classic, defeating Pensacola State 7-0 before falling to No. 2 Northwest Florida State.

Jones, 9-3, saw its nine-game winning streak snapped in the loss to the Raiders.

Day 2 of the Classic was rained out.

The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. when they host Shelton State and LSU Eunice in a three-way at The Bank.

Reanna Nieman tossed a complete-game, three-hitter and Jayden Sawyer went yard for the fifth time in seven games in a shutout victory.

Scoreless into the fourth, MaKayla Blakeney's sac fly scored Meredith Fontenot for a 1-0 Bobcat lead.

Sawyer then hit a two-run shot in the fifth to make it 3-0 after three.

A four-run sixth inning put the game away when Kaleigh Steverson hit an RBI-single, Fontenot drew a bases-loaded walk and two more scored on a fielder's choice.

Emma Moore and Elise Jackson added two hits in the win.

No. 2 NWF 13, Jones 0 (5 inn.)

The Raiders (18-0) proved to be one of the top teams in NJCAA Division I as they scored 13 in a no-hitter of Jones.

Northwest Florida State scored four in the first to take control, adding three in the second and five more in the third.

The only Bobcats to reach were Sawyer and Dale on walks.

Sawyer struck out seven in the loss to run her season total to 50 which leads NJCAA Division II.
