SCOOBA – Tenth-ranked Jones College crushed East Mississippi 14-0 here Tuesday night.
The 14 goals tied a Bobcat school record for most goals in a single game.
Parker Sellers (Oak Grove) got the scoring started just 3:53 into the match.
Matt Reed (England) had a hat-trick in the opening 29 minutes and
Xabier Souto-Rodriguez (Spain) had four assists and scored two goals.
Dylan Dykes (Petal) had two goals.
Tlotlo Langa (South Africa),
Graham Harris (Brandon),
Luke Dickson (Oak Grove),
Cole Cress (Jackson Prep),
Andrew Pearce (Forrest County AHS) and
Cade Thortis (Northwest Rankin) each had a goal.
The goals for Harris, Cress, Pearce and Thortis marked the first of their JC careers.
Brax Rials (East Rankin Academy) played the entire 90 minutes in goal and got the win.
The Bobcats outshot the Lions 37-1, including 26-0 on goal.
Jones, 9-2-2 overall and 7-0-2 in the MACCC, play at No. 7 Pearl River at 7 p.m. Friday in a battle of the two conference leaders.
EMCC falls to 0-15 and 0-9.
