BAY MINETTE, Ala. – The No. 15 Jones College Bobcats defeated Coastal Alabama-South 8-1 here Wednesday morning.
The Bobcats took control early by claiming all of the doubles' matches.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) beat Guido Loayza and Santiago Castillo in No. 1 doubles, 8-3.
Charlie Brady (Australia) and
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) whipped Torean King and Lethan Nguyen in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) and
Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) downed James Wassell and Evan Hered in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Brewer beat King in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Brady Castillo in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-4. Bevard defeated Ethan Cuzzort in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 7-5 and Peoples whipped Nguyen in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Do outlasted Peyton Hickman in No. 6 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 10-4. In No. 1 singles, Nader fell to Loayza, 4-6, 6-2, 0-1.
Jones (4-0) hosts Meridian at 2 p.m. Friday and travels to Holmes at 1 p.m. Monday.
The Sun Chiefs (3-2) go to Gadsden State (Alabama) on Feb. 24.
