ELLISVILLE – No. 15 Jones College defeated East Central 9-0 here Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones did not lose a set in doubles.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) beat Daan Van Mittenburg and Maximo Estrada, 8-0, in No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 doubles,
Charlie Brady (Australia) and
Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) defeated Carson Jones and Luke Sanders, 8-0. In No. 3 doubles,
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) and
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) won 8-0 over Trey Posey and Colten Taylor.
Nader beat Mittenburg 6-3, 6-0 in No. 1 singles and Brewer whipped Estrada in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Brady blanked Jones in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Bevard shut out Sanders in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Peoples defeated Posey in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and
Hudson Hans (Moss Point) whipped Zander Meeks in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
The Bobcats (2-0) go to Meridian to meet Oxford-Emory (Georgia) on Saturday.
East Central (0-1) hosts Copiah-Lincoln on Monday.
