ELLISVILLE – Jones opened conference play with a bang on Friday, routing Northwest 5-0.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 6 in the NJCAA, improved to 4-0, 1-0. Northwest fell to 1-4, 0-1.
Denim Lombard's 10th minute goal was all the Bobcats needed.
Taylor Richardson hit Lombard on a cross into the box where Lombard headed it in for the goal.
Yussef Hakmaoui's first of two goals would give Jones a 2-0 lead at the half.
Jones tacked on three more in the final 45 minutes, with Richardson scoring in the 57th and 74th minutes and Hakmaoui another in the 74th minute to make it a 5-0 final.
The Bobcats dominated play from the get-go and would go on to outshoot the Rangers 31-4, including 22-3 on net. Jones also piled up 20 corner kicks.
Tyler Harris and
Griffin Bailey split time between the posts, combining for three saves. Connor Young had 17 saves for Northwest but allowed five goals.
Jones travels to rival Pearl River on Tuesday for a Top 10 NJCAA matchup at 7 o'clock.
