Sarah Ballard and
Lindsay Henson combined to go 7-for-13 with two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs and
Holly Craft improved to 8-1 with a complete win in game two to help No. 4 Jones split at No. 11 Northwest on Saturday.
Playing its first games of the year on their renovated field, Northwest snapped a 17-game losing streak to the Bobcats that dated back to 2003.
Jones moved to 24-7, 12-2 in the MACCC while the Rangers moved to 19-7, 9-5 in the league.
Northwest 11, Jones 8
With Jones leading 6-2 in the fifth inning, a controversial interference call at the plate rejuvenated the Ranger dugout to the tune of a three-run homer, grand slam and nine unanswered runs the next two innings.
Jones led 1-0 in the top of the first on a perfectly executed double steal between
Nia Luckett and
Aaliyah Dixon after Dixon tripled to lead off the game.

A four-run third, all started by a Ballard single, put Jones on top 5-2.
Lauren Lindsey drew a bases loaded walk, Henson doubled to score two and
Carly Lewis added a sac fly.
Leading comfortably 6-2 in the fifth, a batter's interference call changed the whole momentum.
Sydney Pevey was ruled to have interfered with the catcher's throw to second and called out at the plate. Live stream replay showed it wasn't even close.
Northwest proceeded to score the next nine runs, two in the fifth to get to 6-4, and seven in the sixth.
The Rangers sent 10 to the plate in the sixth and got a three-run home run from Saige Koczka and grand slam from Katie Bednarek to make it 11-6.
Jones scored two in the seventh and had the tying run at the plate when Dixon struck out to end the game.
Luckett (7-4) allowed nine runs on 11 hits, striking out seven and walking four.
Kristen Walker went 0.2 frames and gave up the grand slam to seal the Ranger comeback.
Jones 7, Northwest 4
Henson homered in the second and sixth to give Craft the offense she needed to toss a five-hit, complete-game win.
Northwest led 1-0 after one on Koczka's sac fly, but Jones would respond with the next seven.
Craft hit a solo shot in the fifth and Ballard had an inside-the-park home run to make it 4-1 before Henson's three-run blast in the sixth.
The Rangers scratched across two in the sixth and one in the seventh to make the final 7-4.
Craft scattered five hits, two earned runs and four strikeouts to improve to 8-1. Gabby Dickerson fell to 12-4 for Northwest after allowed all seven earned.

Jones travels to No. 19 Southwest on Wednesday to continue a six-game road swing.
