FULTON – No. 16 Jones College remained undefeated with a 9-0 decision over No. 22 Itawamba here Tuesday afternoon at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts.
The Bobcats are now 12-0 overall, 10-0 in the MACCC.
Jones meets Jacksonville College (Texas) at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Raymond and entertains No. 19 Meridian at 2 p.m. Friday in an important conference match. Itawamba visits Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.
The Bobcats continued to play well in dispatching the Indians.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) beat Russell Moorman and Joao Pedro Mendes in No. 1 doubles, 8-5.
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) and
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) edged Rhonzo Olaechea and Houston Walker in No. 2 doubles, 8-6.
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) and
John Jabour (Warren Central) whipped Sam Morgan and Stroud Mills in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Nader beat Mendes in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3 and Brewer defeated Olaechea in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Vanecek downed Moorman in No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2 and Bevard beat Walker in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Peoples whipped Morgan in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and
