Lauren Pope hit a towering three-run home run in the third and
Nia Luckett tossed a complete game in the circle as No. 6 Jones topped No. 2 Itawamba, 6-2, to advance to Saturday's MACCC Championship game.
Winners in 16 straight games, Jones will aim for its unprecedented seventh conference championship in nine years.
The Bobcats will face the winner of Copiah-Lincoln/Itawamba at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and will have to be beat twice.
Scoreless after two innings, Pope drilled a 1-2 pitch over the left field wall to put Jones ahead 3-0 in the third. After two quick outs, an intentional walk to
Lauren Lindsey put two on with two outs and Pope made the Indians pay.
Kristian Edwards' two-out, RBI-triple to right extended the Bobcat lead to 5-0 after she came around to score on an error by the right fielder.
Itawamba rallied behind a pair of Luckett walks in the bottom of the fifth to plate their first runs of the game. Katie Rutledge doubled to left-center to score both walks and make it 6-2 after five.
Luckett worked around a leadoff double and hit-by-pitch to strand two Indians in the sixth and retired Itawamba in order in the seventh.
Kat Wallace and Edwards picked up three of Jones' seven hits and Pope led the way with three RBIs.
Rutledge and Ivy Watts combined for all four of ICC's hits.
Luckett won her eighth straight start in the circle. She's 3-0 with 32 strikeouts and two runs allowed in the tournament thus far.
