ELLISVILLE – Pearl River scored in the 105th minute to edge Jones College 2-1 here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Stadium.
Jones took the early lead, but could not hang on vs. PRCC.
At the 7:59 mark, the game was delayed by half an hour because of lightning and thunderstorms. When the game resumed,
Natasha Keen (Jersey, UK) scored at 12:40 to give Jones a 1-0 lead.
It remained that way until 59:56 when a Maddie Beets goal off a corner kick tied it at 1-1.
The game remained that way at the end of regulation and through the first overtime.
Jade Shaw's goal at 105:20 ended the contest.
Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the entire game for Jones.
The Lady Bobcats are now 4-3 overall, 3-1 in the MACJC South Division. PRCC is 5-0-1 overall, 4-0 in the division.
Jones entertains LSU Eunice at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will air on
JCJC.TV.
Pearl River hosts East Central on Tuesday.
