PERKINSTON –
Esmeralda Figueroa scored a pair of first half goals and that's all the Bobcats would need in a 2-0 shutout at Gulf Coast on Tuesday night at Bary Thrash Field.
Jones extended its win streak to a season-best three to move to 8-5, 4-1 in the south. MGCCC fell to 1-10-1 and 1-3-1 in division play.
The Bobcats dominated possession from the opening whistle and held the Lady Bulldogs to one shot on the night.
Figueroa broke a scoreless tie in the 25th minute and scored again in the 43rd minute on a beautiful cross into the box from
Natasha Keen.
Alexis Wilson was not tested in net and helped Jones to its sixth shutout of the year. Kaylee Van Norman tallied eight saves for MGCCC.
Jones returns home on Friday, Oct. 4 to host Southwest at 5 p.m. on Sophomore Night.
