ELLISVILLE – The Jones College men's soccer team won its fifth straight game here Friday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
The Bobcats blanked Holmes Community College, 3-0.
The Bobcats controlled the tempo for most of the game as they improved to 8-1.
Dalton Morgan (South Jones) put Jones up early with a goal at 6:34 with Thoma Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) getting the assist. Carlile then put the ball in the net at 33:34 to give Jones a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
The final goal came at 66:09 when
Lucas Middleton (Hemsworth, England) scored off a rebound on a
Cris Rodrigo (Northwest Rankin) free kick.
Callum Harley (Whitley Bay, England) was in goal for the entire game and recorded the shutout.
Holmes falls to 2-8 on the season.
The Bobcats resume MACJC South Division play at 7 p.m.on Wednesday when they entertain Southwest Mississippi.
Holmes hosts Hinds on Wednesday.
