DECATUR – Jones College held a 5-3 lead over East Central with 23 minutes remaining to play.
The Bobcats then ended the game with a 9-0 surge the rest of the way and whipped the Warriors 14-3 here Wednesday afternoon at the East Central Soccer Pitch.
Thomas Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) was credited with four goals for the Bobcats.
Justis Casey (Greene County) and
Dalton Morgan (South Jones) scored three goals each.
Cris Rodrigo (Northwest Rankin),
Glenn Waters (Dungarvan, Ireland),
Jordan Cochran (George County) and
Malachi Harrison (Northeast Jones) each scored a goal.
Carlile also had two assists with Harrison,
Davis Gibson (Sacred Heart),
Lucas Middleton (Hemsworth, England), goalkeeper
Callum Harley (Whitley Bay, England), Casey, Cochran and Waters each being credited with an assist.
Harley was in goal for the entire game for Jones.
The Bobcats led 3-2 at halftime.
Jones, 7-1, hosts Holmes at 7 p.m. Friday. The Bobcats resume MACJC South Division play at home on Oct. 3 vs. Southwest.
East Central, 2-7, hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.
