MERIDIAN – Jones College scored two goals in the final 16 minutes to defeat Meridian 3-1 here Friday night at Ray Stadium on the Meridian High School campus.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead when
Glenn Waters (Dungarvan, Ireland) scored on a penalty kick.
MCC tied it in the 70
thminute on a goal by Tresor Kobeal.
Jones regained the lead in the 74
thminute
Thomas Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) scored with Waters getting the assist.
Dalton Morgan's (South Jones) goal in the 85
thminute ended the scoring.
Adrian Mondragon (Northwest Rankin) got the assist.
Callum Harley (Whitley Bay, England) was in goal for one half and
Jonny Lorenzo (George County) played a half.
Jones is now 4-1 overall, 2-1 in the MACJC South Division. The Bobcats visit Itawamba for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday.
MCC falls to 1-8 overall, 0-3 in the division. The Eagles host Mississippi Gulf Coast on Sunday.
