PERKINSTON – Jones College continued its winning ways here Tuesday night at Bary Thrash Field on the campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College..
Thomas Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) scored in the 76th minute to help the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs. Carlile is the second leading scorer in the MACJC. Callum Harley (Whitley Bay, England) was in goal for the Bobcats.
Jones has won seven straight games to improve to 10-1 overall. The Bobcats are on top in the division with a 5-1 mark and can clinch the division with a win at Pearl River on Friday. The Bobcats end regular season play at home on Monday vs. Meridian.
Jones is 5-1 in the division, while Pearl River is 5-2 and Southwest is 4-2.
Jones, who received votes in the latest NJCAA Division I soccer poll, swept Southwest this season and is 0-1 vs. Pearl River.
MGCCC, 5-9 and 2-5, ends the regular season at Southwest on Monday. The Bulldogs are eliminated from postseason play.
