ELLISVILLE – East Central scored goals late in the first half and early in the second half and defeated Jones County 2-0 here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.
Cory Furlow scored an unassisted goal at 43:07 for the Warriors. Tanner Lindsey then did the same at 49:51.
Michael Godley (Starkville) was in goal for the entire game for the Bobcats. Dylan Shoemaker was in goal for the Warriors and got the shutout.
JCJC, 3-5-1, will host the William Carey University Junior Varsity at 7 p.m. Sunday in a scrimmage. The next regular season game for the Bobcats will be vs. Holmes in Ridgeland on Sept. 27.
East Central, 5-3-1, visits Pearl River on Monday.
