On the next play, Barrett threw a backwards pass to wide receiver Nero Nelson who then threw to an open Kobe Gates for a touchdown. Sublett's PAT was good and suddenly the Wolves were down only 14-10 with 4:01 left in the third quarter.
But JCJC responded in strong fashion.
The Bobcats took the ensuing kickoff and went 65 yards in five plays, capped by a 38-yard run by Smith. Kroeze's extra point gave JCJC a 21-10 lead with 2:12 left in the third quarter.
Jones then forced a Co-Lin punt, but the ball hit the leg of a Bobcat defender and the Wolves took over on the JCJC 16.
But on the next play, Peters came up with an interception at the five to end the threat.
On Co-Lin's next possession, linebacker
Jordyn Bowlin (Starkville) forced a fumble. Peters recovered near the Wolfpack 40 and proceeded to run into the end zone for a touchdown. Kroeze's exta point made it 28-10 with 13:36 left to play.
