ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes here Friday night vs. Southwest at Bobcat Soccer Field.
But the Bears came back to post a 3-2 victory.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead at the 1:32 mark when
Callum Dougan (Ballynahinch, Ireland) scored an unassisted goal. JCJC made it 2-0 when
Thomas Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) was credited with a goal off an assist by
Nick Gibson (Sacred Heart) at 5:42.
The Bears got on the board at 17:23 on a Michael Escobar goal. Southwest tied it at 2-2 when Santiago Martinez scored on a header at 21:36.
The eventual game winner came with just one second left in the first half on another Martinez goal.
Michael Godley (Starkville) was in goal the entire game for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats are now 4-7-1 overall and 1-5 in the MACJC South Division. Southwest is 8-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the division.
Bobcats recognized during "Sophomore Night" prior to the game were Godley,

Clay Taylor (Stone),
Jacob Casey (Greene County) and
Canyon Eubanks (George County).
The Bobcats head to Meridian for a 7 p.m. Tuesday game.
Southwest will go to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
