POPLARVILLE – Jones County ended the season with a 3-2 loss to Pearl River here Tuesday night.
Jevaun Ennis scored all three of Pearl River's goals.
His goal at 15:43 gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. He scored again off a West Zimmerman assist at 19:42 to make it 2-0. His final goal came at 44:35 on a penalty kick.
The Bobcats got on the scoreboard at 48:10 on a penalty kick by
Glenn Waters (Dungarvan, Ireland). JCJC made it 3-2 in the 83
rd minute when Waters scored again off a
Thomas Carlile (Athgarvan, Ireland) free kick.
Michael Godley (Starkville) was in goal for the Bobcats.
JCJC ends the year at 6-8-1 and 2-6 in the MACJC South Division.
Pearl River, 8-5 overall and second in the division at 5-3, will host Hinds in a first-round playoff game on Oct. 24.
