ELLISVILLE – East Central's Jacob Thomas scored with just 19.8 seconds remaining to give the Warriors a 1-0 victory over Jones County here Friday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
It was an evenly matched contest, but the Warriors were able to make a play at the end and win the game.
Tomaz McNair was credited with the assist to McNair, which came at 89:41.
The Warriors took 13 shots and four shots on goal, while the Bobcats took 12 shots and four shots on goal. JCJC had 12 corner kicks and ECCC had four.
Darren Ross (Belfast, Northern Ireland) was in goal for Jones and had three saves.
Zack Vickers was in goal for the Warriors and had four saves.
JCJC falls to 4-5 on the season, while East Central is now 6-6.
The Bobcats resume MACJC South Division play with a 4 p.m. Tuesday match at Southwest.
East Central will travel to Itawamba on Wednesday.
