MERIDIAN –
Mateo Henman's (Norwich, England) goal in the 67
th minute lifted Jones County Junior College to a 3-2 victory over previously unbeaten Meridian Community College here Friday night at C.D. Smith Field.
JCJC battled throughout as they posted their first victory of the season.
Kieran Robins (Norwich, England) scored on a free kick in the 7
th minute to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
MCC tied it in the 34
th minute and took a 2-1 lead in the 58
th minute.
The Bobcats tied it at 2-2 in the 61
st minute when
Joseph Todd (Belfast, Northern Ireland) scored off a Henman assist.
Robins then assisted Henman with what proved to be the game-winner just six minutes later.
Darren Ross (Belfast, Northern Ireland) was in goal the entire match for the Bobcats.
JCJC is now 1-3 overall and 1-2 in division play.
Meridian drops to 4-1 and 2-1.
JCJC returns home on Tuesday to host Copiah-Lincoln. The match begins at 7 p.m.
Meridian entertains Pearl River on Tuesday.
