ELLISVILLE – Northwest scored a goal with just over 14 minutes remaining and nipped Jones County 2-1 here Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Soccer Field.
It was the season opener for JCJC.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead late in the first half at 43:06 when Bryant Young scored on a header off a free kick assist by Christian Clements.
JCJC tied the game at 1-1 at 68:59 when Kieran Robins (Norwich, England) scored an unassisted goal.
The Bobcats were credited with 15 shots and five shots on goal in the game, while Northwest had 17 shots and eight shots on goal.

Darren Ross (Belfast, Ireland) played the entire game and was credited with six saves. Northwest keeper Brandon Carrillo went the distance and had four saves.
Each team had two corner kick opportunities in the game.
The Bobcats, 0-1, will host Southwest at 7 p.m. on Friday in its MACJC South Division opener.
The Rangers, 2-1, travel to Hinds for a Saturday contest.
