ELLISVILLE – Pearl River scored twice in the first half and went on to defeat Jones County 2-0 here Tuesday night at Bobcat Soccer Field in the final regular season game for both teams.
JCJC ends regular season play at 7-7 overall and finishes second in the MACJC South Division at 6-4.
The Bobcats will host the North No. 3 team – either Itawamba or Northwest – on Oct. 25 in a playoff contest. The winner of that game will advance to the MACJC/Region 23 Tournament Oct. 29-30 at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
PRCC's West Zimmerman scored at 29:37 and Tyler Polderman scored on a header at 33:15.
JCJC's
Darren Ross (Belfast, Northern Ireland) was in goal in the first half and
Braxton Taylor (Northeast Jones) was in goal for the second half.
Travis Harper was in goal for PRCC in the first half and Kyle Rankin played keeper in the second half.
The Wildcats end the season at 7-8 overall and 5-5 in the division.
Bobcat Sophomore Night
The six Bobcat sophomores, along with two managers, were recognized before the game.
