ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College scored three goals in just less than six minutes of play of the second half and went on to defeat Copiah-Lincoln Community College 3-0 here Friday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
With the victory, JCJC clinched a playoff berth in the MACJC playoffs, which begin Oct. 27.
The Bobcats got on the scoreboard when
Moses Muhubao scored off a corner kick from
Michael Godley at 69:05.
Less than a minute later,
Luke Sims then scored off an assist by
Tanner Gilliland at 70:00 to make it 2-0.
Saul Moreno then scored at 74:50 off an assist by
Rodolfo Lopez at 74:50 to end the scoring.
Braxton Taylor was in goal for the first 80 minutes and
Malik Davis played the final 10 minutes for the Bobcats.
JCJC is now 7-5-1 overall, 5-3-1 in the South Division. The Bobcats end regular season play with a 7 p.m. match at Pearl River on Tuesday.
Co-Lin is now 0-15 overall and 0-9 in the division. The Wolves host Meridian on Tuesday in their season finale.
