ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Bobcats will attempt to snap a three-game losing streak this week.
JCJC travels to Raymond to face the Hinds Community College Eagles. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Joe Renfroe Stadium.
The Bobcats are 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the MACJC South Division, while Hinds owns a 4-3 overall mark, 2-2 in league play. Each team needs a win to keep its playoff hopes alive.

Currently in the MACJC South Division, there are four teams tied for second place. JCJC, Hinds, No. 20 East Central and No. 14 Copiah-Lincoln are each 2-2 in the league with numerous scenarios still in play to see who will finish second. No. 7 Mississippi Gulf Coast has clinched the top spot in the division.
The Bobcats are coming off a disappointing 14-6 loss to East Central.
Playing without starting quarterback
Thad Miller, who was sidelined with an injury, the Bobcats could only muster 190 yards of total offense. Their only touchdown came in the fourth quarter when
Tevin Moore scored from a yard out to cap an 81-yard drive.
Defensively,
Jahmaad Harrell led the Bobcats with 11 tackles and
Ty Hill added 10. Hill continues to lead the MACJC and ranks fifth in the NJCAA with 79 tackles (11.3 per game).
Eric Barnes had nine tackles, three forced fumbles and one tackle for loss.
Jamal Blackwell had nine tackles and one tackle for loss.
Al'Dreecous Wilson had seven tackles and a fumble recovery, while
Javarious Tanner had six tackles and a quarterback sack.
Markel Winters had three tackles, one fumble recovery and one tackle for loss.
Ramon Patton had six tackles.
Punter
Patrick Ponder had a huge game for the Bobcats, averaging 46.6 yards per kick on eight punts, including kicks of 82 and 66 yards. He was named the MACJC Special Teams Player of the Week. He leads the MACJC and is second in the nation with a 43.5 yards per punt average.
The Eagles are coming off a 33-26 victory over No. 14 Copiah-Lincoln.
TR Page rushed 14 times for 120 yards and was 5-of-9 through the air for 50 yards. Jaquez Parks was 10-of-15 through the air for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Jahmmir Taylor had seven catches for 102 yards and a score.
On defense, lineman Marcus Loud led Hinds with 11 solo tackles, two assists, two sacks, three tackles for loss and a blocked extra point. He was named the MACJC Defensive Player of the Week.
Both teams conclude regular season play on Oct. 22.
The Bobcats will host Co-Lin at 7 p.m., while the Eagles visit Southwest Mississippi.
