ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College and Southwest Mississippi battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime here Friday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
JCJC is now 6-4-1 overall, 4-2-1 in the MACJC South Division. The Bears are 6-6-2 and 3-3-1.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead at 12:10 when Donaldo Martinez served a corner kick and
Jay Simpson converted on the header.
The Bears tied it at 16:10 on a goal by Tristen Nicholson.
From that point on, both teams had several opportunities to score, but could not.
Braxton Taylor played the entire 110 minutes in goal for the Bobcats.
JCJC travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest hosts Meridian on Tuesday.
