Oleg Baleyev

Oleg Baleyev enters his 10th year as the head men’s soccer coach at Jones County Junior College.
Baleyev, simply known as “Bal” in coaching circles, served as the head women’s coach for two years before concentrating solely on the men’s position in 2008. He is also the Director of Intramural Sports at JCJC.
Last season, Baleyev led the Bobcats to a 7-8-1 record and a third-place finish in the MACJC South Division. They then defeated Itawamba in the MACJC/Region 23 quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals. The Bobcats ended the year with a 7-8-1 record.
In 2013, Baleyev led the Bobcats to a third-place finish in the MACJC South Division. JCJC then defeated Northwest Mississippi in the opening round of the playoffs before falling in the MACJC/Region 23 semifinals. The Bobcats ended the year with a 12-4-1 record.
In 2012, Baleyev led JCJC to a second-place finish in the MACJC South Division and a berth in the state tournament, where they lost 1-0 to Holmes in the semifinals.
Baleyev guided the Bobcats to the MACJC playoffs for two straight years in 2008-09. During those two seasons, the Bobcats posted consecutive 11-4 records, finished second in the South Division and reached the MACJC semifinals. In 2010, JCJC had another winning season, posting an 8-7 record and followed that up with an 8-4-2 record in 2011.
Baleyev owns a 77-52-8 record in his tenure as the JCJC men’s coach.
Baleyev came to JCJC from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he was the assistant coach for men and women’s soccer. Prior to MGCCC, Baleyev spent three years as an assistant coach with the nationally ranked men and women’s soccer teams at William Carey University, where he also received an MBA.
Baleyev was an accomplished player while playing defender at William Carey from 1994-98. His team ranked No. 1 three out of four years in the NAIA. He was an NAIA All-American and All-Region player in 1997-98. He was also elected to the NAIA “Senior Bowl.”
Baleyev was inducted into the William Carey University Sports Hall of Fame in the spring of 2014.
Baleyev also played for the Russian National Team when he was 17-years-old and trained with a professional team, “Dynamo” Moscow.
Baleyev and his wife, Kelley, have two children: a son, Jake, and a daughter, Svetlana Gray.
