Helping Jones to a 6-0 month, freshman guard Dimp Pernell has been named the Athlete of the Month for January.

Pernell averaged 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 60 percent from the floor, including 48 percent from downtown.

Pernell has been the team's leading scorer all season.
